"Taking Notes from a Live Lecture" on page 47 makes reference to a website that no longer carries suitable content for taking notes from a live lecture.
Here are some recommendations which we have received:
- "If you search through youtube you may have better luck. Clips on there aren't usually that long. Students can take notes from a clip fitting closer to 5 minutes. "
- semons
- HSLDA's Homeschool Heartbeat has some online lectures that kids can listen to and take notes.http://www.hslda.org/docs/hshb/archive.asp
- TED Talks - "Riveting talks by remarkable people, free to the world"
http://www.ted.com/
Some are very good - some are very PC - would be great practice for teaching kids to think critically as they hear "experts" speak
- All else fails, you can find a passage about a topic of interest and read aloud, having them take notes while you read
- University of Berkely site has a tremendous variety of recorded lectures in video and audio formats. The link is   http://webcast.berkeley.edu/
